Baked Chocolate Coated Donuts --- A healthier way to live life!

Guys. it's time we say "NO" to deep-fried donuts! Seems unbelievable, right? Can a donut be baked? Hell, yes! Not only that, but it would be that fluffy, but soft in light golden brown texture. You will soon agree to the fact that healthy food can be tastier than unhealthy ones once you have made and tasted this recipe of ours. You can just dust it with icing sugar, if you want so, but I coated it in melted chocolate and used colored sprinkles on the top to decorate. Plus, it can be a very good lunch box for you kids as well! Happy Feasts to you all, and enjoy!

Required Ingredients:

A) For baking the donuts:

All-purpose Flour: 1 and 1/2 cup
Baking powder:  1 tsp
Baking soda: 1/2 tsp
Salt: 1/4 tsp
3/4 cup caster sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup milk
2 tsp lemon zest
3/4 cup yogurt

B)For Chocolate Coating:

40 grams  of chocolate
1/2 cup condensed milk
6 tbsp oil

Required Instructions:

A) For Baking Donuts:

  1. Preheat oven at 180 degree-celsius and grease the donut tray with some oil. (You can use the regular cupcake mould and once the donut is out from the oven fully baked in the shape of cupcakes, use a small circle-shaped cutter to cut holes in the middle of the cake to give it a shape of donuts.)
  2. At first, sift all the dry ingredients in a large bowl i.e. flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the yogurt with the help of an electric beater for a minute and half at high speed. Add in the egg, milk, and vegetable oil. And beat for a minute or two once again. Now add in the sugar and lemon zest, and beat until the sugar is well mixed with all other ingredients.
  4. Now add in the dry ingredients to the yogurt-egg mixture and beat at a high speed. You will see the mixture get lumpy, but yet a batter. Use the spatula to mix then fill the moulds of donuts keeping 1/4 th of the space empty to let it rise.
  5. Pop it into the oven and bake for 10 minutes or until it is fully baked.
  6. Once it is out of the oven, take it out on tray, and keep it aside, to coat with the chocolate.
B) Coating the donuts:

  1. Add oil and chocolate in the pan and keep mixing on medium heat. Once the chocolate is melted add in the condensed milk, and mix them well on heat. Once it is thick, but not so runny in texture, turn off the heat.
  2. One by one, with the help of a tong, dip the donuts on chocolate to coat and take them out on the rack, Sprinkle colored sweet balls on the top! Let it set for a while.
  3. Serve once it is set and enjoy!
HAPPY FEASTS EVERYONE!
