REQUIRED INGREDIENTS:
1 cup butter, 200 grams
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
2 cups of quick cooking oats
1 cup flour
1 cup caster sugar
1/4 teaspoon chopped raisins
REQUIRED INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 175 degree-Celsius. Grease oil on a 9 by 13 inch square baking dish or cake tin.
- Add maple syrup to the butter and heat it in the microwave to melt it. You can use your pan to melt your butter as well. Now, add baking soda and cinnamon powder to that hot melted butter and mix well. Keep it aside and let it cool at room temperature.
- In a bowl, mix oats, flour, sugar, and raisin altogether. Now add the butter mixture to it.
- Use your clean hands to mix them together and form it into a crumbly dough. Note that the dough won't come together properly, so don't panic or use more butter in it. Once you are sure the dough is mixed properly, simply pour it on the baking dish and press to even the dough out.
- Pop it into the oven for 15 to 25 minutes or bake it until the bars are golden brown in color and takes a nice crunchy texture on top. Do not over bake it, because once it is out of the oven it would take a much more crunchier form (just like the cookies).
- Once the bars are baked, let it cool for 10 minutes and cut in your desired shapes and let it cool further. Once it is at room temperature, cut it again on the same areas, you previously had cut.
- Serve it on the plate and enjoy your tea-time snack. You can also serve it to your kids with milk. Enjoy!
