Meaty Layered Pasta Casserole

I always loved pastas and get every excited to do something innovative every time I make them. This recipe is one of those, which I often try to make. This is my own dish with a layer of pasta below, meat in the middle, and another layer of pasta topped with homemade spicy tomato sauce, meat loaf strips and oregano! Well, this recipe has four different steps: making the sauce, cooking the minced beef, boiling the pasta and arranging it to the serving plate. The best part is you arrange it and tuck in your mouth, no need to bake! Hope that you will enjoy every bit of it.

REQUIRED INGREDIENTS:

Refrigerated Meat loaf: 5 to 6 pieces
Oregano: 2 tsp
Black Pepper Powder: 1/2 tsp
Pasta: 2 cup
Salt: as required
Oil: 1 tbsp
Olive oil: 2 tbsp

For sauce:
Tomato: 4 diced
Vinegar: 1 tbsp
Oil: 2 tbsp or more
Onion: 2 tbsp (chopped)
Garlic: 3 tbsp (chopped)
Red chillies, with seeds: 5 to 6 (chopped)
Sugar: 1 to 2 tsp
Salt: as required
Water: 1/2 cup + as required for dissolving cornflour
Cornflour: 2 tsp

For the Meat Layer:
Minced Beef: 1 cup
Light Soya sauce: 1 tbsp
Onion: 4 tbsp
Red chilli paste: 2 tsp
Green chillies: 5 to 6 chopped or as you please
Garlic (chopped): 3 cloves
Chili sauce: 1/4 cup
Mayonnaise: 4 tbsp
Cornflour: 1 tbsp
Water: 3/4 cup + as required for dissolving cornflour
Salt: as required
Sugar: as required to balance the taste

REQUIRED INSTRUCTIONS:

For sauce:

  1. At first, place some oil in the pan, add some onions, garlic and red chillies to it once it is heated.
  2. Add the tomatoes in it and stir it until it leaves some juice. You need to do this at medium heat. Now, add some water to it and let it boil and thicken.
  3.  In the meantime, add in some sugar and salt to the sauce. Once you think it is in the right consistency i.e. the flavors balance each other, add in some cornflour which is dissolved in some water. Keep it stirring, otherwise you will get lumps. Once the sauce takes a runny but thick texture, take it out of the oven and let it cool down at room temperature.
For the meat layer:
  1. Heat some oil in the pan. Add garlic and onions to it. Now add the red chilli paste. Stir them for a while and add the minced beef, salt, soy sauce. Mix them and add green chillies to it. Now add some water to cook the beef through.
  2. Once the beef is almost cooked, add in chilli sauce and sugar. Add the mayonnaise and keep stirring otherwise it can split. Do it at medium heat. Now, dissolve cornflour in some water and add it in the beef and stir as well.
  3. Once the beef takes a texture of having a not too dry and too runny layer, we take it out of the pan let it cool at room temperature.
For the Pasta and meat loaf:
  1. In a pan, heat some water to boil pasta. Once the water is boiled, add some oil and salt in the water. Add in the pasta and let it boil until it is what we call a perfect pasta. After it is boiled, drain the water and drizzle it with some olive oil and mix them through. Keep it aside.
  2. In another pan, boil some water and add in the refrigerated meat loaf. Once it is boiled, take them out and cut them in long 1 cm strips.
  3. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and stir fry the loaf for a minute or two. Take them out and keep it aside as well.
Arranging the casserole:
  1. In the serving dish, form a layer of half of the pasta you boiled. Now, add in all the cooked minced meat and even then out and form another layer. Cover the meat with rest boiled pasta.
  2. Now, spread the thin strips of meat loaf on the top.
  3. Drizzle the sauce you made all over the pasta, and garnish it with a hint of oregano and black pepper powder on top.
  4. Your casserole is ready! Enjoy!
